I am now only three weeks away from when I will be leaving for the World Race! The Lord has been doing a lot in my life and my heart in the months leading up to this trip, and I’m so excited to see what he has in store over these next 2-3 months. By now, if you have been keeping up with the blog, you have probably heard a lot about how excited I am for this trip and some of the things the Lord has been showing and teaching me along the way. But some of you might be wondering exactly what I will be doing while I am overseas for the next two months. It is a very valid and reasonable question to ask, especially if you have been one of my incredibly awesome and generous donors! So for this blog, I wanted to do a quick overview of some of the things my team and I will be participating in while in Thailand and Cambodia.
We will be spending the first month of the trip in Chiang Mai, Thailand. While there we will be working with the Adventures in Missions Thailand Base alongside their local network of ministry partners. This will provide us with a wide variety of ministry opportunities including teaching English and working with refugees. We will also have the chance to encourage the youth by working alongside many of the local churches. This could involve things such as leading worship/Bible teaching. Pray and intercession will also be a crucial part of our ministry in Thailand. Because Thailand is heavily unreached (only 1.3% are professing Christians), teaching English will provide a great avenue to build relationships with the locals and actively show them what it is like to be a follower of Jesus.
The second month of the trip will be spent in Siem Reap, Cambodia. While there, the majority of our ministry will be done alongside an organization called “New Hope for Orphans.” It was established in 1999 and their aim is to care for the orphaned, abandoned, and impoverished children. We will be able to do a variety of different ministries with the children involved in this organization. Our month will also be filled with opportunities to participate in the teaching English to the young children and the youth, teaching Bible classes, different manual labor projects as needed, and various evangelistic outreaches with the local pastors in the area.
Praying for you and SO SO excited for all that Gods gonna do!
